YogaNearMe.com is a Google-maps based search application created by Two Brained Consultants to help you find local yoga studios and drop-in classes no matter where you are in the world. Version 1.0 of the web application was recently released. The new version has been redone using Flex 3, which provides a slick rich-internet application interface. Yoga Studio owners can now create an account for their studio. This will enable them to get their studio on the YogaNearMe map, keep their studio information up to date, and add & modify drop-in times. There is no charge for studio owners to have an account and provides them with one more advertising outlet. When a studio has a dropin on a given day, their studio map marker changes to indicate this. For the normal user of YogaNearMe.com, this helps them find nearby yoga studios that offer drop-in classes — this is particularly nice when traveling & you’re unable to access your regular yoga studio. For the yoga studio owner, this means that you have an additional means of attempting to maximize the number of drop-ins & thus increase revenue. As time goes on, more and more value-added features will be integrated into YogaNearMe.com. Since the application is so new, the current database only has basic information on studios in the Vancouver, British Columbia area, though Two Brained Consultants will work to expand the yoga studio database, first across Canada, then the United Stated, then throughout the rest of the world.
